Purchasing & Shipping Policy

Nicola Bouwer is committed to ensuring a professional, transparent and secure purchasing experience for collectors of original contemporary collage artworks and oil paintings.

If you have any questions prior to purchasing, please make contact. Careful communication ensures a smooth and confident acquisition process.

Every effort has been made to display artworks as accurately as possible in terms of size, scale and colour. Please note that variations may occur due to differences in browsers, devices and screen calibration. Minor tonal variations between digital representation and the original artwork do not constitute a fault and are not considered grounds for return.

  • How is my payment handled?

    Payments are accepted via PayPal in US Dollars.

    South African collectors may alternatively pay via:

    Bank transfer (preferred)

    Yoco (South Africa only)

    If you select bank transfer, you will receive an email with payment details and confirmation instructions.

    Payment plans may be arranged by prior agreement.

  • When will my artwork be shipped?

    Original artworks are carefully packaged and dispatched within 5 working days of payment confirmation, unless otherwise agreed in advance.

    Within South Africa, artworks are shipped via The Courier Guy. Most deliveries arrive within approximately 2 weeks of dispatch. Please allow up to 15 working days in total.

    Expedited delivery can be arranged at an additional cost if required.

  • Is shipping included in the artwork price?

    Shipping within South Africa to main centres is included in the artwork price.

    Deliveries to outlying or remote areas may incur an additional charge.

    International shipping is not included. Please contact me with your location and the artwork of interest to receive a tailored shipping quotation.

    Shipping costs contribute toward professional packing materials, handling and insured transit.

  • Do you ship internationally?

    Yes. International shipping is available to most countries.

    Delivery times will vary depending on destination. A custom shipping quote will be provided prior to purchase.

    Please note that international shipments may be subject to import duties, customs fees or taxes determined by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the collector. Nicola Bouwer Studio does not have control over, or responsibility for, additional customs-related costs.

  • Can I collect my artwork from the studio?

    Studio collection at August House, Johannesburg may be arranged by prior appointment. In certain circumstances, this may be a convenient option for both collector and artist.

  • What if my artwork is not as expected?

    For original artworks delivered within South Africa, a 14-day buy-back agreement is offered.

    If the artwork is not as expected, you must make contact within 14 days of delivery to request a return. Once approved, the artwork must be securely repackaged and returned using the same courier method in which it was sent.

    Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the collector.

    Once the artwork has been safely returned in its original condition, a refund will be processed within 14 days.

  • What if my artwork arrives damaged?

    All artworks are professionally packed using protective materials suitable for fine art.

    If an artwork arrives damaged within South Africa, please contact me within 7 days of receipt and include clear photographs of both the artwork and packaging. This allows a claim to be lodged promptly with the courier service.

  • International Returns

    Returns and refunds are not currently offered on artworks shipped outside of South Africa.

  • What if my artwork arrives damaged?

    All artwork is carefully packed and wrapped. If you receive an artwork that has been damaged in transit, to a South African destination, please contact me within 7 days with a photograph.

  • What about Overseas Returns?

    At this time I am unable to offer a refund or return on any artworks sent outside of South Africa.
