Head Shots

This series of hand cut analogue collages investigates the human figure through abstraction, fragmentation, and reassembly. Bodies and facial structures are reduced, interrupted, and reconstructed, moving between figuration and nonrepresentational form.

Using found imagery and precisely assembled elements, each composition develops through controlled shifts in structure, proportion, and spatial balance. Forms are sliced and repositioned into deliberate visual arrangements where recognition is partial and fluid. Within the disruption, a sense of human presence remains, a face suggested, a body implied through line, contour, and mass.

Cutting and reassembling functions as a method of visual analysis, testing how identity and form persist beyond literal representation. These works explore continuity within fragmentation, resolving abstracted elements into compositions that retain physical and psychological presence.
